The Pick: KST (-4) via Vegas Insider
K-State tied with Texas Tech for first but got the No. 1 seed for the tourney, which just happens to be in Kansas City. It should be a very favorable crowd, something the Wildcats thrived on this season in going 13-2 at home (plus a neutral-site win at the Sprint Center, where the Big 12 Tournament is being held).
They went 2-0 against No. 8 seed TCU, winning 64-52 in Fort Worth just 10 days ago. That was one of 17 times this season they've held an opponent under 60 points to game, and for the year they are fourth nationally in scoring defense.
TCU has been hot and cold this year, starting 12-1 but dropping six of seven before beating Texas in the regular-season finale and then edging Oklahoma State in the first round on Wednesday. The Horned Frogs won despite blowing a 21-point lead.
A win over the co-conference champs would greatly increase TCU's chance of making the NCAA tourney, and it has won outright in three of its last five times as an underdog. But K-State hasn't had a dud since a home loss to Iowa State in mid-February. Don't expect that to happen in this one.
